NATIONAL HEALTH EDUCATION STANDARDS | SCOPE & SEQUENCE

HPW provides teachers with extensive resources making the delivery of high quality health education a rewarding teaching experience. In addition to step-by-step lesson plans each teacher manual comes with an extensive Teacher Resource Guide to give teachers in depth background information along with outside references and Internet websites for further information.

Evaluation and Assessment: HPW includes several tools for evaluating student progress. Activity based measurements within each health component include children's ability to work well with others, organize and present information, and demonstrate health promoting skills. Progress reports are used to chart individual development in a particular topic area. Written evaluations are used at the end of every component to measure student knowledge, skills and attitudes. Pre and post evaluations are used to measure baseline knowledge, skills and attitudes from start to finish of the HPW program. To see all our program components and view samples in Acrobat PDF format, go to Grades K-5, Grades 6-8 or High School.

National Health Education Standards shows teachers how the HPW curriculum correlates to the performance indicators set by a national team of health educators.

Scope & Sequence explains the topics covered at each grade level of the HPW curriculum.

HPW provides highly interactive Teacher Training. You can select from full day, half day and training of trainers programs. Our team of trainers is adept at making your staff comfortable with the materials, confident in their ability to teach these topics and motivated to implement the program in the classroom.
